{"id":2329,"date":"2012-03-20T08:00:22","date_gmt":"2012-03-20T08:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/?p=2329"},"modified":"2012-03-22T14:44:31","modified_gmt":"2012-03-22T14:44:31","slug":"steel-magnolias-gets-colorful-makeover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/2012\/03\/20\/steel-magnolias-gets-colorful-makeover\/","title":{"rendered":"Steel Magnolias Gets Colorful Makeover"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>Looks like <strong>Queen Latifah<\/strong>, <strong>Phylicia Rashad<\/strong>, <strong>Alfre Woodard<\/strong>, <strong>Jill Scott<\/strong> and the newest stars on the horizon, Pariah\u2019s <strong>Adepero Oduye<\/strong> and Broadway darling <strong>Condola Rashad<\/strong> who also happens to be the daughter of Phylicia Rashad are poised to fill in the shoes of the impressive cast from the 1989 tearjerker, <strong>Steel Magnolias<\/strong>, the film that helped solidify actress Julia Roberts\u2019 career.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/2012\/03\/20\/steel-magnolias-gets-colorful-makeover\/steel-magnolias\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2330\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2330\" title=\"Steel-Magnolias\" src=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Steel-Magnolias.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"535\" height=\"347\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Steel-Magnolias.jpg 535w, http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Steel-Magnolias-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 535px) 100vw, 535px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The roles will be distributed as follows; <strong>Queen Latifah<\/strong> will inhabit the role of M\u2019Lynn, which <strong>Sally Field<\/strong> touchingly portrayed. <strong>Condola Rashad<\/strong> will be Shelby, the sickly but spirited daughter that was affectingly played by <strong>Julia Roberts<\/strong>. <strong>Phylicia Rashad<\/strong> will be busy tackling the <strong>Olympia Dukakis<\/strong> role of Clairee. <strong>Alfre Woodard<\/strong> will breathe life into the character of Ouiser, a role that <strong>Shirley MacLaine<\/strong> played to perfection. <strong>Jill Scott<\/strong> is perfectly cast as Dolly Parton\u2019s Truvy, the hairdresser who keeps abreast on all the town\u2019s gossip. Newcomer<strong> Adepero Oduye<\/strong> rounds up the cast as Annelle, the new girl in town with a past.
