{"id":15240,"date":"2016-05-17T21:20:22","date_gmt":"2016-05-17T21:20:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/?p=15240"},"modified":"2016-05-17T21:20:22","modified_gmt":"2016-05-17T21:20:22","slug":"dr-luke-squashes-keshas-previously-approved-billboard-awards-performance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/2016\/05\/17\/dr-luke-squashes-keshas-previously-approved-billboard-awards-performance\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Luke Squashes Kesha\u2019s Previously Approved Billboard Awards Performance"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Things are not getting better for embattled singer Kesha as she is once again confronted with another setback in her fight for freedom from the clutches Dr. Lukes\u2019s record label \u2013 Kemosabe Records.<\/p>\n<p>The saga between the artist and the producer has been playing out in the public eye ever since the singer accused the hit maker of sexual abuse.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/kesha-infection.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15242\" src=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/kesha-infection.jpg\" alt=\"kesha-infection\" width=\"612\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/kesha-infection.jpg 612w, http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/kesha-infection-300x186.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As that war rages on \u2013 it had been arranged that Kesha would be allowed to perform at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards \u2013 she even obtained an official hardcopy approval from the record company \u2013 that was drafted as proof that she was free to join the line up of entertainers scheduled to hit the stage.<\/p>\n<p>But <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/dr-luke-withdraws-approval-for-kesha-billboard-music-awards-performance\/\">TheWrap just confirmed <\/a>that Dr. Luke and his Kemosabe Records \u2013 a division of Sony Music caught wind from the media that Kesha was planning on referencing the controversial mess at some point during her act \u2013 and have decided to block her appearance on the show.<\/p>\n<p>A source directly associated with Billboard Awards gave the complete lowdown to TheWrap \u2013 \u201cKesha accepted an invitation on the show and she received written approval from Dr. Luke\u2019s record label, Kemosabe Records. Kemosabe subsequently rescinded its approval following a media report on Wednesday, May 11<sup>th<\/sup> regarding Kesha\u2019s appearance on the BBMAs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The rep went on to conclude that Kesha and the record label have been unsuccessful in resolving the matter but \u201cDick Clark productions has a long standing relationship with Kesha. We hope that the parties can come to an arrangement such that we can continue that long standing relationship with a performance by Kesha on the Billboard Music Awards on May 22<sup>nd<\/sup>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This story is still developing.
