At the age of 21 \u2013 she won the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and took second place in the World Championships.<\/p>\n<p>She was at the top of her game and was determined to maintain her enviable position at all costs.<\/p>\n<p>At least it seemed that way to the champion skater&#8217;s ex-husband and one of her bodyguards who both plotted to ensure Harding\u2019s eventual victory by hiring someone to break Kerrigan&#8217;s legs a month before the Games.<\/p>\n<p>The brutal attack left Kerrigan with a badly bruised leg and forced her to exit the competition.
