{"id":14796,"date":"2016-02-23T18:04:16","date_gmt":"2016-02-23T18:04:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/?p=14796"},"modified":"2016-02-23T18:04:16","modified_gmt":"2016-02-23T18:04:16","slug":"spike-lee-will-do-the-right-thing-and-vote-for-bernie-sanders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/2016\/02\/23\/spike-lee-will-do-the-right-thing-and-vote-for-bernie-sanders\/","title":{"rendered":"Spike Lee Will Do The Right Thing and Vote For Bernie Sanders"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>As Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders continue to find innovative ways to outshine each other in a bid to woo African-Americans and young women to their neck of the woods \u2013 it seems that most are taking notes and making their decisions accordingly.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/SpikeLee.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14797\" src=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/SpikeLee.jpg\" alt=\"SpikeLee\" width=\"660\" height=\"302\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/SpikeLee.jpg 660w, http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/SpikeLee-300x137.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Particularly celebrities \u2013 who for better or worse are perceived as the voice of reason &#8211; since they possess the ability to influence their fan base \u2013 one way or the other.<\/p>\n<p>Actor Morgan Freeman has been recruited to lend his highly touted vocals to a new ad featuring his preferred candidate \u2013 Hillary Clinton.<\/p>\n<p>And director Spike Lee who never holds back his views (sometimes to the detriment of his career) has officially pledged his allegiance to Bernie Sanders.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t necessarily a shocking revelation considering the oldest contender in this rambunctious campaign has a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/videos\/politics\/2016\/02\/20\/bernie-sanders-1963-arrest-video-pkg.wgn\/video\/playlists\/bernie-sanders-2016\/\">well-documented history <\/a>of being a willing participant when it comes to protesting for the welfare and well being of the African-American community.<\/p>\n<p>Lee has also been commissioned to voice a radio ad for Sanders that will makes its debut today in South Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>ABC News was the first to <a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/spike-lee-endorse-bernie-sanders-voice-ad-senator\/story?id=37127329\">release<\/a> the transcript for Lee\u2019s latest gig that begins with a resounding call to \u201c<strong>Waaaaake up! Wake up. South Carolina!\u201d The esteemed filmmaker then goes on to urge voters to join Sanders in his fight against an establishment that has been set up for the benefit of the wealthy at the expense of the poor and downtrodden.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThis is your dude, Spike Lee. And you know that I know that you know that the system is rigged! And for too long we\u2019ve given our votes to corporate puppets. Sold the okie dokie. Ninety-nine percent of Americans were hurt by the Great Recession of 2008, and many are still recovering.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThat\u2019s why I am officially endorsing my brother, Bernie Sanders. Bernie takes no money from corporations. Nada. Which means he\u2019s not on the tape, and when Bernie gets into the White House, he will do the right thing!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ad is obviously a blatant attempt for voters to get a clear distinction between Clinton and Sanders as the race intensifies &#8211; given the fact that both candidates are neck and neck in the polls &#8211; which is great news for Bernie but not so swell for Hillary.<\/p>\n<p>There is also the hope that it will encourage those who are on the fence to consider how each of the candidates has strategized their campaigns.
