{"id":14710,"date":"2016-02-09T22:12:33","date_gmt":"2016-02-09T22:12:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/?p=14710"},"modified":"2016-02-09T22:12:33","modified_gmt":"2016-02-09T22:12:33","slug":"lupita-nyongo-to-possibly-star-in-sci-fi-thriller-helmed-by-ava-duvernay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/2016\/02\/09\/lupita-nyongo-to-possibly-star-in-sci-fi-thriller-helmed-by-ava-duvernay\/","title":{"rendered":"Lupita Nyong\u2019o To Possibly Star in Sci-Fi Thriller Helmed by Ava DuVernay"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong\u2019o may have been cheated out of screen time in <em>The Force<\/em> <em>Awakens<\/em>, but it looks like she will be making up for it sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lupita-Nyongo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14711\" src=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lupita-Nyongo.jpg\" alt=\"Lupita-Nyongo\" width=\"638\" height=\"425\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lupita-Nyongo.jpg 638w, http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lupita-Nyongo-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 638px) 100vw, 638px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>There is a strong possibility that Nyong\u2019o will star in the sci-fi thriller <em>Intelligent Life<\/em>, a new entry from Steven Spielberg\u2019s Amblin Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>And if that\u2019s not impressive enough, the script was co-written by Colin Trevorrow \u2013 the director of last summer\u2019s global juggernaut, <em>Jurassic World<\/em>, he is also set to produce the film along with Frank Marshall.<\/p>\n<p>If the Mexican-born Kenyan actress officially signs on \u2013 she may have the pleasure of working with <em>Selma\u2019s<\/em> Ava DuVernay, who is being seriously courted to direct the project.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources, DuVernay is also in contention to helm Disney\u2019s <em>A Wrinkle in Time<\/em>, based on the classic children\u2019s tale by Madelein L\u2019Engle. Due to the timeline of both projects \u2013 there is nothing preventing the Golden Globe nominee from tackling each of them accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>The premise of <em>Intelligent Lif<\/em>e focuses on a man who is employed at the U.N. and works in a facility that is designed to facilitate relations in the evident of an alien invasion. The worker ends up getting romantically entangled with a woman who is later revealed to be an alien.<\/p>\n<p>Nyong\u2019o will play the role of the woman whose existence disrupts the flow of both worlds.<\/p>\n<p>Filming is scheduled to begin as early as this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Nyong\u2019o who won an Academy Award for her affecting performance in <em>12 Years a Slave<\/em> is also lending her voice to Disney\u2019s <em>The Jungle Book<\/em>, which opens April 15.
