The images of Jared Leto as The Joker from the upcoming film\u00a0Suicide Squad<\/em> certainly gives fans a lot to anticipate.<\/div>\n
Leto looks frightfully majestic and gorgeously eccentric – and the purple hair and cringe-worthy body tattoos don’t hurt either. And that smile!?<\/div>\n

But there is the pressure that comes with stepping into an iconic role that has been played to perfection by two big name actors. Jack Nicholson brought his effortlessly gritty charisma and Heath Ledger literally transformed himself into a dangerously seductive terrorist with a maddening curve for The Dark Knight which earned the late actor a much deserved Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.<\/div>\n
Leto is hoping to make both his predecessors proud with his version of The Joker which he promises will be quite groovy – and we believe him.<\/div>\n
Suicide Squad<\/em>\u00a0which was penned and directed by David Ayer – joins the long list of comic book adaptations and boasts a vibrant cast of A-listers including Will Smith, Viola Davis, Ben Affleck, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne, and Common to name a few.<\/div>\n
It is definitely one of the highest anticipated films of 2016 but we will have to wait till Aug. 5 to play with the coolest gang on the block.<\/div>\n
In the meantime – Leto recently posted a pic on Instagram that pretty much illustrates what he is banking on when audiences get to see him indulge in what appears to be his rite of passage.<\/div>\n
