Daniel Craig is undoubtedly the savior of the Bond franchise thanks to his explosive debut in Casino Royale<\/em> back in 2006.<\/p>\n

Four films later and at the cusp of welcoming the next installment. Spectre<\/em>, the man who floored social media and fans when he declared that he would rather slash his wrists than embody the role that skyrocketed him to fame,<\/p>\n

Craig is reflective about the iconic character that has managed to remain a fascinatingly satisfying enigma for longer than most of us have been alive.<\/p>\n

While speaking to the an interviewer at The Red Bulletin, Craig was challenged with the task of explaining why James Bond has served as the admired template for most men who can only dream of acquiring that level of swagger.<\/p>\n

In typical fashion, the British actor didn\u2019t hold back, \u201cMany men admire Bond for his way with the ladies.\u201d \u201cBut let\u2019s not forget that he\u2019s actually a misogynist\u201d.<\/p>\n

Nobody can deny that! Craig went on to summarize he\u2019s neverending appeal to women, \u201cA lot of women are drawn to him chiefly because he embodies a certain kind of danger and never sticks around for too long\u201d.<\/p>\n

Perhaps Craig\u2019s acceptance of the characteristics that make Bond so fun to play coupled with his ability not to take it all so seriously is the reason why he\u2019s been the best man for the job since Roger Moore stopped uttering \u201c007\u201d.<\/p>\n

But even more impressive is the way Craig points out the evolution of the modern Bond girl who has no issue putting the world\u2019s most successful spy \u201cin his place\u201d.<\/p>\n

He also goes on to make the necessary corrections when it\u2019s suggested that Italian bombshell and co-star; Monica Bellucci is older than him. \u201cI think you mean the charms of a woman his own age. We\u2019re talking about Monica Bellucci, for heaven\u2019s sake\u201d. \u201cWhen someone like that wants to be a Bond girl, you just count yourself lucky!\u201d<\/p>\n

It sounds like Craig fully understands the basics of feminism! The best part of the interview has to be the firm answer he gave when asked if there was anything every day people could learn from Bond. Craig simply replied \u201cNothing\u201d. And went on to emphasize how irrelevant the films are in the grand scheme of things. \u201cLets not talk these films up as some kind of life-changing experience\u201d. \u201cBond is what Bond does. Bond is very single-minded. He takes his own course. And that\u2019s simple, which is great\u201d.<\/p>\n

So, in the end, Craig acknowledges that Bond is a \u201cconsiderate person\u201d who \u201ctakes care of business, and he looks out for people \u2013 for everyone, that is, not just women\u201d.<\/p>\n

He is also looking forward to taking a much-needed break from the grind of show business which might explain why the notion of starring in another Bond film doesn\u2019t sound excite him at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I need right now is to stop working, relax and get back to normal life\u201d. \u201cThere\u2019s one thing I actually find more exciting than Bond at the moment: going home\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
