He cited to his fans that he been on painkillers \u201cfor weeks\u201d and confessed his role in the unfortunate incident, \u201cI can\u2019t blame anyone but myself\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bono<\/strong> who now sports a titanium elbow wrote that he \u201cblanked out on impact and have no memory of how I ended up in New York Presbyterian with my humerus bone sticking through my leather jacket. Very punk rock as injuries go\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He goes on to explain the painful road to recovery and is realistic about how it will affect the functioning of the much beloved band. \u201cThe consequences of this freak accident are significant enough that I will have to concentrate hard to be ready for the <strong>U2<\/strong> tour in fitness terms\u201d. \u201cAs a result I have cancelled every public appearance and decided this missive is all the communication I can manage for the first half of 2015.
