{"id":13162,"date":"2014-11-20T23:52:21","date_gmt":"2014-11-20T23:52:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/?p=13162"},"modified":"2014-11-20T23:52:21","modified_gmt":"2014-11-20T23:52:21","slug":"steve-mcqueens-next-film-will-heist-flick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/2014\/11\/20\/steve-mcqueens-next-film-will-heist-flick\/","title":{"rendered":"Steve McQueen&#8217;s Next Film Will Be \u201cHeist\u201d Flick"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p><em>12 Years a Slave<\/em> nabbed best picture at this year\u2019s Oscars and famed director,<strong> Steve McQueen<\/strong> is ready to tackle his next project which will reportedly be a heist thriller based on the popular British series, <em>Widows<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Steve-McQueen-the-12-Year-012.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13163\" src=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Steve-McQueen-the-12-Year-012.jpg\" alt=\"Steve-McQueen-the-12-Year-012\" width=\"620\" height=\"372\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Steve-McQueen-the-12-Year-012.jpg 620w, http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Steve-McQueen-the-12-Year-012-300x180.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/steve-mcqueen-make-film-based-750429\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, McQueen was fan of <em>Widows<\/em> during its run in the 80\u2019s and has been waiting for the opportune time to adapt it to the big screen.<\/p>\n<p>He will be teaming up again with New Regency, the same company that financed and produced his Oscar-winning film. <strong>Iain Canning<\/strong> and <strong>Emile Sherman<\/strong> who both garnered best picture honors for <em>The King\u2019s Speech<\/em> will also serve as producers.<\/p>\n<p>The film\u2019s title will most likely be re-worked but the storyline should adhere to the crux of what the series was about. The pilot depicted the killing of three armed robbers during a botched heist, and their widows who end up following in the footsteps, with the aid of the blueprint of the crimes they left behind.<\/p>\n<p>McQueen is hoping to produce an updated slicker version that will be set in an American city with four widows.<\/p>\n<p>Casting is still being explored and it will be interesting to see if McQueen continues the tradition of relying on the roster of talent he prefers to utilize.
