The Road to Furious 7<\/strong> finally arrived at it\u2019s long awaited destination when the trailer for the seventh installment in the beloved franchise was unveiled by the main cast at Universal Studios in Los Angeles on Nov. 1.<\/p>\n

Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris \u201cLudacris\u201d Bridges<\/strong> and newcomer Jason Statham<\/strong> were on hand to answer questions from eager fans at a special event hosted by E!<\/strong> correspondents,\u00a0Maria Menounos<\/strong> and Terrence Jenkins.\u00a0<\/strong>But one piece of the puzzle was missing, and it was a stark realization that the journey Paul Walker<\/strong> began thirteen years ago ended way too soon.<\/p>\n

As expected, completing the film was an emotional quest for the cast who lost an integral member of their family when Paul Walker<\/strong> who played street-racing cop Brian O\u2019Connor, was killed in a car crash almost a year ago. The tragedy occurred during Thanksgiving break, and by then, the actor had completed majority of his scenes but filming was far from over. After a long hiatus and much deliberation, the studio decided to valiantly complete what they had started.<\/p>\n

As shooting ended this summer, speculation began about what the final product would produce, especially with confirmation that Paul Walker\u2019s<\/strong> brothers Cody and Caleb had stepped in for their late brother and also that CGI was also being utilized.<\/p>\n

From the looks of the trailer, it is clear that Furious 7<\/em> might just live up to all the hype and the sentiments echoed by the cast who swear that it will be the best film of the franchise. Cars flying out of planes, exotic locales including stints in Abu Dhabi and Japan, and a madman using state of the art methods to terrorize the crew are all the elements that will make for an \u201cedge of your seat\u201d stunner. We also get to see quite a bit of the late Paul Walker<\/strong> who once more showcases his above-average capabilities through the eye-popping stunts on display.<\/p>\n

What is also obvious is how the cast is coping with Walker\u2019s painful absence and why Furious 7<\/em> is one of the most important and personal endeavors of their careers. Emotions ran high as each of them confirmed the gravity of the loss they suffered, but the major takeaway was the overall feeling that Furious 7<\/em> was a labor of love, fueled by the incentive to honor their fallen comrade who undoubtedly would have wanted them to persevere without him.<\/p>\n

Michelle Rodriguez<\/strong> summed it up perfectly when asked if the film was a revenge flick, \u201cNah \u2013 this one\u2019s for Paul\u201d.<\/p>\n

Furious 7, directed by James Wan, will hit theaters April 3 2015.<\/p>\n
