{"id":1305,"date":"2011-11-04T08:00:02","date_gmt":"2011-11-04T08:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/?p=1305"},"modified":"2011-11-03T17:16:05","modified_gmt":"2011-11-03T17:16:05","slug":"top-chef-texas-bigger-and-meatier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/2011\/11\/04\/top-chef-texas-bigger-and-meatier\/","title":{"rendered":"Top Chef Texas:  Bigger and Meatier"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p><strong>Top Chef Texas<\/strong> had its premiere last night on <strong>BRAVO<\/strong> and it absolutely did not disappoint.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/2011\/11\/04\/top-chef-texas-bigger-and-meatier\/128879580-02214951\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1306\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1306\" title=\"128879580-02214951\" src=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/128879580-02214951.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"555\" height=\"415\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/128879580-02214951.jpg 555w, http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/128879580-02214951-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 555px) 100vw, 555px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The one thing about this consistently successful franchise that keeps us coming back for more aside from the mouth-watering confections on display is the way the camera flawlessly captures the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.<\/p>\n<p>And last night\u2019s episode served up a course that would satisfy any viewer\u2019s palette. As an homage to the grandiosity associated with the state of <strong>Texas<\/strong>, every aspect of the show was presented on a larger scale and the menu overflowed with Meat, Meat and more Meat. This time we were introduced to 29 incredibly talented contestants, who all seemed to run the gamut in the food industry. The age differences were also quite glaring and it appeared casting made an effort to represent almost every state on the map.<\/p>\n<p>At the start of the show, all the contestants converged at the <strong>Alamo<\/strong>, and the sight of host <strong>Padma Lakshm<\/strong>i\u00a0 standing in front of this imposing landmark, gave the signal that the stakes were going to be much higher this time around.<\/p>\n<p>By the first Quickfire challenge, it was clear that the goal was to reduce the 29 hopefuls to 15 competing chefs. The first chunk were either unapologetically dismissed or placed \u201con the \u201cbubble\u201d which was explained as a sort of limbo stage where the contestants who didn\u2019t impress enough to be promptly handed a chef\u2019s coat, will still have the opportunity to wear one if they successfully beat out other contestants who share the same fate. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>By next week\u2019s episode, the competition will be in full swing, with all the usual suspects including <strong>Tom Colicchio <\/strong>and <strong>Gail Simmons<\/strong> assuming their positions at the judges table determining the fate of the eager-eyed chefs.<\/p>\n<p>Let the games begin!<\/p>\n<!-- google_ad_section_end -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Top Chef Texas had its premiere last night on BRAVO and it absolutely did not disappoint.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[1,38],"tags":[325,20,324,322,326,323,327],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v17.3 -
