This week in cover trends is quite the reveal - Oprah Winfrey graces the cover of her namesake pub sporting a look that has the media outlets buzzing.
She dared to unleash her hair in its natural state! In case you haven’t noticed, there is a strong movement within the African-American community that is geared towards encouraging black women to embrace their hair with all its intricacies and uniqueness instead of abhorring it for exactly the same reasons. It looks like Oprah is responding to this apparently contagious trend and we have to admit that it agrees with her. We will have to wait and see if she s brave enough to rock those tresses at a movie premiere or award show – then we will really be impressed!
Kate Middleton doesn’t have to contend with hair-wrecking situations, her always glossy mane is a certifiable mainstay for her lookbook. She is quickly establishing herself as the IT girl in the fashion world, mainly because she has mastered the ability to choose pieces that are practically stylish without being overbearing. She has access to the industry’s most influential designers, but she is perfectly content rocking a dress from Zara to attend a Royal affair. She has her moments when only haute couture will do and she makes those memorable and worth the wait. That is probably why Vanity Fair magazine took notice and placed her on the cover of their 2012 International Best Dresses List edition.
We have to admit that both covers are FAB! But Oprah wins this cover war – Any woman who is featured on the cover of her own magazine is the ultimate cover girl!
