Trendy TV Report: The Face Recruits Nigel Barker and a Couple of Lasses

A few months ago we mentioned that Supermodel Naomi Campbell had been selected to host The Face, Oxygen’s version of Tyra Banks’ long running modeling show, America’s Next Top Model.

As expected there have been some new developments. Aside from the fact that Campbell will be getting some Super support from runway vets, Coco Rocha and Karolina Kurkova, the sometimes-feisty stunner will also have Nigel Barker in her corner.

This is interesting news when you consider the fact that the famed fashion photographer and former model was inexplicably banished from his cozy gig on ANTM not too long ago. Its no secret that there has been long standing tension between Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell that culminated with the TV Empress inviting her nemesis to her show for a “heart to heart” in an effort to bury the hatchet. After this announcement, it’s safe to say that the hatchet is still up for grabs!

For his part, Barker didn’t seem too pleased after being handed his walking papers but he graciously accepted them – probably because he already knew what was lurking in the horizon.

In any case, it will be interesting to see how this show’s formula differs from Banks’ Million Dollar Baby. One thing is for sure, the diva quotient will be at an all time high!
